Frozen Codebase Post-mortem

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Frozen Codebase (FCB) was a midwest-based game studio formed in 2006 and closed in 2011.  FCB produced games for major publishers and organizations- the likes of Konami, Activision, Cartoon Network and THQ. Although there were no home-runs, the studio shipped over six projects in only five years.  FCB achieved notoriety with it's title "Metalocolypse: Dethgame", which would peak the company at 28 employees and a one year commitment: yet never shipped. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.  This talk explores the highlights of forming an independent game studio in the midwest: the lessons learned, the pitfalls, the glory, the code, the beer, and all the cheese you could want.
